⏳ When Will It Be Time?

Howdy, Zack here.

When will it be time? We often wait for that perfect 'when' — the moment everything falls into place. But what if 'when' is actually right now? As a dad of triplets on the brink of their senior year, time feels more precious than ever. Everything has been one-and-done for us. Before long, my wife, Gwen, and I will be seeing our 3 off to college. Thus, each moment matters more. Can you relate?

When certain chapters come to an end, we tend to feel the gravity of our decisions more deeply. A few years ago, I chose to take on a handful of clients and be a solopreneur executive coach close to home. I've had offers to join companies and take on clients out of state. But, those decisions would have prioritized financial gains over our faith and family. Yes, we could have had 'more'. But more what? More money, more things, a bigger house, and fancier objects? Instead, we chose to invest our time in what mattered most to us. We know life will change when we become empty nesters. I struggle even writing those words as I've loved being a dad, second only to being married to Gwen for 23 years now. It's all I've known for so long, and investing in my family is a choice I'll never regret.

I'm not here to tell you what to take action on. Sometimes, not acting and waiting for the right moment is the best decision. I understand the doubt that creeps in during these times of waiting. Professionally, I've deferred some goals to prioritize what matters most. It gives me peace knowing that even if I never reach those longer-term goals, I didn't sacrifice the here and now.

If you're questioning your priorities...

3 STEPS

  • List What Matters Most
Jot it all down. Circle the most important items. Rank them based on how much time you spend on them each week.
  • Evaluate Their Order
Are less important items taking precedence? Consider how reorganizing your list could change things.
  • Act With Clarity
Now that you're clear on your priorities and where you're spending your time, 'when' is now. You don't have to overhaul everything overnight but consider it carefully, trust your gut, and take action today.
Just remember:
'When' is now. Focus on your true priorities, as tomorrow isn't promised. Choose wisely how you invest your time. 🕰️

How We Scale • Valleys

Howdy, Zack here. Are you navigating a challenging valley in life right now? Are things not going as planned? Do you feel stuck and overwhelmed? These moments can be tough, to say the least. I know. I've been there. We all have. But they also offer profound lessons and opportunities for incredible growth. Whether you follow a particular faith or not, the wisdom found in Biblical teachings and Stoic philosophy can offer valuable guidance through these difficult times. They emphasize...

How We Scale • Stop

Howdy, Zack here. Stop it. Stop doing the things that aren't working for you. Sound too simple? Well, it's not. It's one of the hardest things to do. Yet, funny enough, once you've done it, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. You know what's not working for you. Ugh, lump in my throat. I have a few that come to mind right now. It might be eating too much, not working out, wasting time on social media, getting caught up in drama, focusing on big world issues (like politics), or pretty...

Howdy, Zack here. I love you. Yes, you. And, that love is not conditional. We all have our faults. I know when I've been at my worst, that I need others' love the most. Unless you've been living under a rock or you've intentionally disconnected (can't blame you), you've seen the effect of deliberate division — the recent assassination attempt on former President Trump. No matter your political beliefs, this sort of hatred has no place in our world. It stems from the polarization of our...
